Getting a license is the final step for starting a DC business. Licensure


All businesses in DC must be licensed. The majority of DC businesses are licensed by DCRA's Business Licensing Division and Occupational and Professional License Division.

Apply for a Basic Business License

   Step 1. Review business activity(s) to be conducted.

   Step 2. Determine Required Category of License.

   Step 3. Complete BBL EZ-FormBBL Application; attached supporting documentation.

   Step 4. Submit application and payment.

Apply for a Occupational or Professional License

   Step 1. Determine Occupational or Professional License is required.

   Step 2. Submit application and payment.
