Lookup Business or Professional Info
To operate a legitimate and compliant DC business, licensing and registration are required.
The majority of businesses in the District are organized or registered with the DCRA's Corporations Division. Many have one or more Basic Business Licenses issued by DCRA's Business Licensing Division. Individual service providers, such as architects, engineers, and cosmetologists, are required to have a professional license issued by DCRA's Occupational and Professional Licensing Division. Additionally, some local businesses apply to be considered Certified Business Enterprises, which are preferred vendors for District government procurement.
