About the DC Business Portal

We aspire to make DC is the #1 place in the nation to launch a business where entrepreneurs can start and maintain a business seamlessly, thanks to a "one stop" business portal that helps business owners navigate the process of business ownership and support them each step along the way.

This portal is just step one in our journey to streamline your experience with DC Government.

We’re working hard already to build new enhancements. Soon you will be able to stop jumping from application to application to start and maintain your business. No need to continue to re-enter your information over and over.

Our goal is to give you a truly one-stop business center. But we’re not going to get there overnight. The DC Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO) in partnership with the DC Department of Licensing and Consumer Protection (DLCP) are working with nearly a dozen other agencies to start to connect their systems to this new portal to speed up processes and create a better experience for you.

We are excited to show you more as we work to launch a new version in in Fall 2022.
