Weights and Measures Certification - Definition

A Weights and Measures Certification is proof that a weighing and measuring devices (i.e., UPC scanners, scales, gas pumps, etc.) has been inspected and approved by the Office of Weights and Measures for proper calibration. District businesses must register all Universal Product Code (UPC) scanners, pharmaceutical balances, scales used in dialysis clinics, and commercially used weighing and measuring devices including gas pumps, produce scales and many other devices.
