Department of Motor Vehicles Registration Certificate - Definition

A Department of Motor Vehicle Registration Certificate is proof of registration of a vehicle with the D.C. Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). Its purpose is to establish clear ownership and to determine appropriate party for taxation with relation to a motor vehicle.
